Community Services

hl art 018The Community Services department was created to provide support to individual clients in any program at Harbour Light, and those from the community. The Community Advocate facilitates referrals, acts as a client advocate where possible, coordinates intake if applicable, and provides spiritual support. The role is to provide human contact and support to clients and anyone coming to the door.


Feeding Ministry

There are 10 meals offered each week. Over 218,000 meals are provided on an annual basis.


Harbour Light/Rotary Foot Clinic

The Foot Clinic is a caring partnership between The Salvation Army Harbour Light, The
Rotary Club of Vancouver Quadra, and the British Columbia Association of Podiatrists.hl art 012

Our Foot Clinic provides foot care for the people who need it most. Visitors receive foot examinations, follow-up, and access to a podiatrist. Each visitor receives new socks and reconditioned athletic shoes. 


Other Services

The Community Advocate can assist with:

        • Referrals to Harbour Light programs
        • Referrals to programs such as Gather & Give, Lenscrafters Gift of Sight, etc.
        • Access to the Red Book, a resource book containing information on, and
          contacts for, all social services providers in Greater Vancouver.
        • Referrals to transition houses, advocacy centres, food banks, health clinics,
          victim services, social assistance and employment insurance offices,
          and more.
