FAQs for Group Volunteers

My church group / team / office / friends want to volunteer together – can we do that?
Yes, we welcome groups from schools, corporate teams, service clubs, churches, and other community organizations! Groups are limited to 15 participants.

Is there a minimum age requirement?
We have a limited number of weekday opportunities for chaperoned youth groups where all members of the group are at least 16 years old (i.e. Grades 10/11/12). These age limits are firm.

Can we just show up to volunteer?
To ensure the smooth operation of our programs and services, and the safety of the vulnerable populations we serve, we require pre-registration of groups.

What opportunities are available for groups?
Our daily community meal service is an ideal opportunity for groups. This opportunity offers your group a fast-paced, fun experience, and is ideal for busy groups at less than 90 minutes per visit! Meals are served Monday to Friday in the late morning, and Mon/Weds/Fri/Sat/Sun in the late afternoon.

Activity Days are offered on weekday afternoons, and can be combined with a community meal service. We’ll even feed you lunch! Come prepared to work hard: our facilities team engages groups to help with intensive cleaning projects, re-organization projects, and much more.

What do you offer for youth groups?
Youth groups meeting our age and supervision criteria are invited to help serve our lunchtime community meal. After the meal service, we can arrange time for youth and their chaperones to meet with one of our program clients for a frank conversation about addiction and recovery, homelessness, and other topics.
